Last updated: September 15, 2026
1. About ThoughtMate
ThoughtMate provides a platform designed to connect people who want to talk with people who are willing to listen. ThoughtMate is intended to provide supportive human conversation and listening services.
2. Not a Medical or Emergency Service
ThoughtMate is not a medical, psychiatric, psychological, diagnostic, or emergency service. Listeners are not presented as a replacement for licensed healthcare professionals unless expressly stated otherwise.
If you believe you or another person is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or an appropriate crisis service in your location.
3. Eligibility
You must meet the minimum age requirements applicable in your location to use ThoughtMate. By using the service, you represent that you are legally permitted to use the service under the laws applicable to you.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for providing accurate information when creating an account and for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You should not share your password or authentication credentials with another person.
5. Listening Sessions
Users may request listening sessions for the durations and prices displayed by ThoughtMate. Session availability depends on the listeners available on the platform.
ThoughtMate does not guarantee that a listener will provide specific advice, a particular outcome, or professional treatment.
6. Respectful Conduct
Users and listeners are expected to communicate respectfully. Threats, harassment, abuse, hate, sexual exploitation, scams, impersonation, illegal activity, and attempts to misuse the platform are prohibited.
ThoughtMate may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts when reasonably necessary to protect users, listeners, the platform, or comply with applicable law.
7. Payments
Paid services are charged according to the price displayed at the time of purchase. Prices may vary by session duration and supported currency.
Payment processing may be handled by third-party payment providers. Additional terms from the applicable payment provider may also apply.
8. Refunds and Cancellations
Refunds and cancellations are handled according to the ThoughtMate Refund and Cancellation Policy. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
9. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit where applicable. However, you grant ThoughtMate the permissions reasonably necessary to host, process, transmit, and display that content to provide the service.
You should not submit content that you do not have the right to share or that contains another person's private information without appropriate permission.
10. Listener Responsibilities
Listeners must follow ThoughtMate's safety, conduct, verification, and platform requirements. Becoming a listener does not automatically represent that the listener is a licensed medical or mental-health professional.
11. Platform Availability
We work to keep ThoughtMate available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, technical problems, security incidents, or circumstances outside our reasonable control may temporarily affect availability.
12. Intellectual Property
ThoughtMate's software, branding, design, text, graphics, and other platform materials are owned by or licensed to ThoughtMate unless otherwise stated. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit these materials without appropriate permission.
13. Termination
You may stop using ThoughtMate at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary for security, violations of these Terms, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or protection of users and the platform.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When material changes are made, we will update the date shown above and provide additional notice where required.
